Case study

Northpoint’s product was moving quickly. Its sales message was not always keeping up. Founders could explain the thinking behind a new offer, but the team needed a way to make that explanation work in an actual conversation.

“We could hear where the message was unclear before a customer had to tell us.”
— Northpoint team

Turning one pitch into better conversations

With MockAllies, sellers rehearsed the announcement against simulated buyer questions. The goal was to discover where the pitch became vague, where it sounded too technical, and where a buyer might need more context.

Across a series of imagined rehearsals, the team tests its opening, reviews feedback, and tries a simpler version. Questions about implementation provide a useful prompt: have we explained the buyer’s problem before introducing the features?

“A better pitch started with a better question.”
— Northpoint team

Taking a clearer message to market

The revised pitch began with the customer’s current process. Sellers practised asking what was difficult today and only then connected the product to that answer. Different objections became opportunities to listen instead of cues to repeat a script.

Northpoint kept the routine after the launch. Before a new message reaches customers, the team rehearses it, compares notes, and chooses the next improvement. Practice gives a fast-moving startup room to think before it speaks.
