The short answer

How do you run a weekly sales review?

Spend fifteen minutes at the end of the week looking at your practice and call notes, find one pattern that came up more than once, write next week’s focus as an if-then plan and book two short practice sessions for it.

Foreword

Why it matters

Spreading practice across the week works better than cramming it1, but only if something connects the sessions. A short weekly review is that link. Keep it focused on one change, because feedback aimed at the task helps while feedback aimed at yourself can backfire2.

Spacing

839

assessments of spaced versus massed practice, from 317 experiments, in one review1

Caution

1 in 3+

feedback interventions lowered performance, across 607 effects in one meta-analysis2

Planning

d = .65

effect of specific if-then plans on reaching a goal, across 94 tests3

What we’ll cover in this guide

  • Part 01: Look back
  • Part 02: Set next week’s focus
  • Your practice task: a short exercise to try with Selly
  • Conclusion and what to practise next

Part 01: Look back

Gather what happened this week: practice sessions, real calls and the notes you made.

The evidence

Find one pattern

A moment that came up more than once: the same objection, the same drift in the middle of calls, the same weak ending.

Keep it about the task

“I rush the price answer” is useful. “I’m bad at sales” is not.

Reflection questions and how to get started

  • What came up more than once? That is your pattern.
  • Is it about the task, not about you? Rewrite it if not.

Part 02: Set next week’s focus

One focus, written as a plan you can follow.

One change

Write it as an if-then plan

“If the buyer asks for information, then I will ask what they want to find out before agreeing to send it.”

Book the practice

Put two short sessions for that focus in next week’s calendar now.

Reflection questions and how to get started

  • Is your focus a single change? If you listed three, pick one.
  • Are the sessions booked? Book them before you close the review.

Your practice task

  1. On Friday, gather this week’s practice notes and call notes.
  2. Find one pattern that came up more than once.
  3. Write next week’s focus as an if-then plan.
  4. Book two short Selly sessions for that focus next week.

Conclusion

A weekly review connects the sessions. Fifteen minutes, one pattern and one if-then plan give next week’s practice a direction.
